"Im thinking kohana regects her calves because she doent want anyone taking her role"
Well by this SO well thought out logic, all dominant females would reject their calves, which does not happen.
Let’s think about this again, and use our brains this time!
Reasons why Kohana would reject her calves:
1. She was forcibly separated from her mother as an infant to be shipped from Seaworld to Loro Parque as a breeding machine. Because of this, she did not have time to learn the proper maternal skills from her mother, something very vital in young female orca development.
2. She was bred at an unnaturally (and sickeningly) young age with both of her youngsters. She give birth to Adan at 8 years old, and Vicky at 10 years old. In the wild? Female orcas don’t tend to start breeding until roughly 15 years of age. She was WAY too young to know what to do with a baby, when she is a baby herself!
3. Kohana didn’t have the assistance of her close family members when giving birth. It has been observed from the wild that siblings, mothers, grandmothers, and other close family members help a mother care for her infants, right from birth. Kohana had no one.
When you look at Kohana’s situation from a factual (not fantasized) point of view, it really makes one wonder how she would NOT reject her calves. Irresponsible breeding by Seaworld and Loro Parque set this unfortunate situation up.
